I received my Bachelor’s in Occupational Therapy in Mumbai, India and then moved across the globe to USA to practice Occupational Therapy. I received my Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from SJSU. I have enjoyed practicing in a variety of settings; working with children and older adults has been my favorites so far. I consider myself to be a life-long student and have taken multiple certifications to further my knowledge in Occupational Therapy that is neuro-affirming. I am passionate about the super power of Occupational Therapy and thoroughly enjoy being a clinician. I believe strongly in collaborating with my patients and their loved ones to create achievable goals that are meaningful to them and improve their quality of life. When I am not brain storming a meaningful intervention with a client, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, reading and being silly!

Jamie McGill

My Name is Jamie, and I am a trauma-informed occupational therapist. I have dedicated my career in occupational therapy to working with children and families in both school-basedand in private practice. I believe therapy should be neurodivergent-affirming, relationship-based, respectful, child-centered, strength-based, and above all honors what is meaningful to the child.

I am entering my 8th year as an occupational therapist. Prior to becoming an OT I worked over a decade long careerin respiratory therapy, working in critical care environments from neonates across the lifespan. I completed my undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and went on to earn my Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from West Coast University.

Through my personal experiences living with sensory processing differences coupled with myprevious career in high stress trauma environments which led me to be very passionate aboutmental health, sensory integration, neurodevelopment, and the resilience that is born through meaningful relationships. I believe in the power of collaboration with families and those who support them, and the importance of children feeling safe and seen in their learning environments and community.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, cultural dancing and singing, and all things outdoors in nature.
